Kidney Stone Evaluation

During a Kidney Stone Evaluation, we focus on two priorities: quickly understanding what is causing your pain now, and lowering the chance you will face another stone in the future. We start with a detailed history of your symptoms, imaging when indicated, and targeted blood and urine tests to determine stone type and whether there is any blockage or infection.

For many patients, surgery is not the first step. When appropriate, we use Medical Management of Kidney Stones, including medications and close monitoring, to help stones pass more comfortably or to prevent them from growing.

We also provide Stone Prevention Counseling, translating your test results into practical changes in fluid intake, diet, and medications that fit your daily life. During painful episodes, we offer focused Pain Management for Kidney Stones to keep you as comfortable and safe as possible while we guide you through treatment.
